Charities we support at Holy Family

CAFOD     

We have a very active Cafod group here at Holy Family School. We try to meet every week and talk about how we can promote the work of Cafod and also to raise funds.

In October we held a Brighten up for Harvest day when all the children and staff wore bright clothes and gave a donation. We had a very enjoyable day and managed to raise £146.21!

Mission Together

Mission Together is the Pope's official children's charity for overseas mission. Previously known as Holy Childhood, Mission Together has been working in Catholic schools and parishes worldwide since 1843, encouraging children to pray, fundraise and become missionaries themselves - children helping children.

This year (2020) the whole school enjoyed a stunning a virtual CAFOD advent service.  We particarly enjoyed this service as we were able to worship with our own pupils as well as other pupils from all the other Catholic schools in our cluster. 

During the following few weeks the children will also enjoy Advent Art afternoons, special class fundraising events for Mission Together as well as Advent prayer and liturgies provided by the teacher and the pupils.

 

Mission Together Fund Raising Activities

Reception – Toast next week, 10p a slice (only reception children to take part)

Friday 11th December classes will do the following to raise money.

Year 1 - PJ bottoms

Year 2 - Silly socks

Year 3 - Sick socks

Year 4 - Slippers

Year 5 - Silly socks

Year 6 – on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, next week, Hot Chocolate will be available to buy at break (for Year 6 only) 50P

All staff will have a slipper day
