National Poetry Day
Reception
This term we have been learning and reciting a poem a week in reception class. To celebrate World Poetry Day we performed our poems and we have uploaded the video to Tapestry for you to enjoy.
Year 1
We have been working very hard over the past few weeks in English as poetry has been our focus. We have been practicing a number of poems, but our favourite was "Leaves are Falling". It goes like this:
Leaves are falling, leaves are falling,
One fell on my nose.
Leaves are falling, leaves are falling,
One fell on my toes.
Leaves are falling, leaves are falling,
One fell on my head.
Leaves are falling, leaves are falling,
Yellow, orange, red!
We have recorded ourselves speaking and acting out the poem and it is available to watch on Tapestry! Well done Year 1!
Year 6
To celebrate world poetry day, year 6 have been sharing some of their favourite performance poems with the class. Mrs Wilson's favourite was a funny poem called 'What teacher did in her holidays!'
Year 6 have finished their amazing photo style portraits this week and I am very impressed by how artistic our Year 6 children are.
