Year 6 investigated fingerprints as part of Science Week 2023. They found out their own fingerprint types and then carried out research to find out the most common fingerprint type. They also found out when fingerprinting was first used in criminal investigations and the name of a pioneering Scientist in this field.
On Friday afternoon all KS2 children took part in a live presentation and Q and A session with Stem Ambassador, Clare Pugh. Clare is an Ecologist based near London. She told the children all about her job and the conservation work it involves. The children really enjoyed the session and asked some interesting questions. This session motivated many of our children , as in the summer term, our own young Ecologists will be undertaking visits to our local nature reserve Dob Croft to conduct their own studies of local wildlife.
